On this day 15 years ago, the slogan “New girl in town” announced the opening of the Nicha agency, led by the sisters Marjeta Kirn Kljajič and Lidia Pavlin. “When we founded a new niche agency, the name Nicha came naturally. Since the launch of Nicha happened exactly on Women’s Day, the birth and announcement of this woman (agency) seemed to us as a nice holiday gift. Of course, all of it was devised by a man, Art Director Sandi Radovan,” Kljajič recalls.
Love at first project
Since the founding many projects have gone to pass, for more than 200 different clients. And, according to our interlocutor, it’s difficult to single out some of them. She emphasizes that each client is still greeted warmly, and with the same creative charge as in the early years. “Every project is still the same challenge, from business card design to creating a complete advertising campaign. We’ve been working with some clients for all these 15 years. That was ‘love at first project’. We are truly grateful to them for their trust and honesty, because that’s the only way of creating good final products.”
Years go by, but the energy remains
The “journey” through these 15 years of the agency’s work she describes as any other entrepreneurial road, full of ups and downs. There were the “turbulent” years of recession, and a bit quieter recent years. “We are still trying to find and fill new niches that still exist, but for all this we need more and more effort (and personal) energy. The environment is increasingly competitive and changes faster than ever before.” And if we were to call Nicha’s phone back in 2003, what would we hear as the greeting? “You’ve received the new girl in town – let’s rock!” Kljajič laughed.
