Creative workshop “Mokrin House” will organize on 17 September a lecture and workshop on “Storytelling – Directing a Story”, which will be led by a famous Serbian director Snežana Trišić, and will answer the questions of how and why we choose, invent, interpret, embellish or sell a story?
Theatre directing interprets and questions the meaning and purpose of a certain work, story or topic in the context of the present time, political and social circumstances and intimate experiences. Directing is the process of composing the different elements of many skills and diverse arts through which we can create an EFFECT on the audience.
Along with content, storytelling has become one of the most frequently used buzzwords in the marketing industry in recent years. Very often with no real understanding of its real meaning.
There’s hardly a better opportunity to talk about storytelling than a meeting with a successful theater director. Snežana Trišić is one of the best Serbian directors and an assistant at the Department of Theatre Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where she completed doctoral art studies in Drama and Audiovisual Arts. Although a young director, Snežana has already received a number of prestigious awards for her work, including the Sterija Award for best director in 2015.

Snežana and the ensemble of Kikinda Theatre are currently preparing the play “Ždrelo”, by the text of Žanina Mirčevska. Snežana has accepted the invitation of “Mokrin House” to do a lecture and workshop on “Storytelling – Directing a Story” during her stay in Kikinda, which will give answers to the questions how and why we choose, invent, interpret, embellish or sell a story? How do we deal with betrayed expectations and why are they important? “Jumping into the well” or the games of trust? Form and/or content? The idea and action, play and improvisation, creativity, motivation and emotion, interaction and identification…
