Mercator in Slovenia has launched a new customer loyalty program. These types of activities have quite a long tradition in Mercator and are especially successful because of the Pika loyalty card, which is present in virtually every household in Slovenia. Mercator thus at least once a year treats its customers with special activities, rewarding their loyalty. Through collectable points, it offers customers high discounts for attractive and special products, specially selected for the loyalty program.
In the developed Slovenian market with fierce competition, retail chain Mercator is making efforts to maintain its leadership position not only in market share, but also in quality perception, breadth of offer, excellence in service and innovation. With their special marketing projects, Mercator wants to surprise customers, engage them and offer them something more. That’s why Mercator’s new loyalty program for vivo products was upgraded with a promotion activity in which the main protagonist is one of the most recognizable people of Slovenian media scene, Vid Valić. Proverbially cautious and even somewhat skeptical Slovenian customers still need convincing. And what is one of the most effective tools for this? Humor.
Vid Valić has humor in at least proportionate amounts to his height, weight and shoe size. As a stand-up comedian and TV presenter, he has a special place among young media personalities as he is undoubtedly original. His style and language are sometimes on the edge, because his style deserves it. In an ad for vivo glasses, he’s the only one who can deliver a punch-line like: They’re made out of glass, and you can drink from them.
Mercator has therefore boldly started a new loyalty program that will last until the beginning of March 2017, and they believe that the success of a similar program in Croatia will also be confirmed in the Slovenian market.
Mercator shoppers are actually well aware of all the benefits that this retailer provides them, and they shrewdly use all the bonuses – from collected pika points, bonus Pika discounts, double pika points, weekend discounts on selected products, senior discounts and similar. By taking advantage of these opportunities they can make considerable savings with Mercator.
