McCann’s creatives Ashley Glass and Francisco Valenzuela have created a photo campaign and an unexpected type of signage to get people to vote for gun reform today.
They took an iconic warning sign that’s prevalent after every mass shooting, the crime scene tape, and turned it into a call to action to vote for gun reform in the upcoming election.
The tape is placed at locations that represent the same locations where mass shootings have happened throughout the country like: schools, movie theaters, synagogues, nightclubs, offices and more. Now, the spaces where Americans once thought were safe are plastered with the yellow and black tape that reads “This Should Never Be A Crime Scene Vote 11.6”.
In addition to the photo campaign, that also reminds people of the stories behind the country’s mass shootings, the team is sending the tape to people who want to canvass their own cities with it leading up to the election. They are also planning to place it around school polling stations.
