MA studies Advertising and Media is modeled on the artistic advertising programs that are taught at higher education institutions around the world.
The program is designed to be comprehensive and to provide students with the right amount of artistic, theoretical and scientific knowledge, practical and artistic methods and processes necessary for the contemporary work in the field of advertising and media.
Advertising and Media program has been implemented with great success for more than a decade now, and in 2008 it received its first accreditation from the International Advertising Association (IAA). After the re-accreditation in 2016, the program has undergone changes in the sense of modernizing and concretising the field of artistic education for advertising.
Numerous higher education institutions accept the advertising concept as a specific modern art. These are art colleges, and their one-year MA programs are in the field of art, just like the Advertising and Media program at the Faculty of Drama Arts.
The Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade is one of the leading higher education institutions in the world that train media professionals.
At the International Student Contest organized by the International Advertising Association, in collaboration with the United Nations and the DENTSU corporation, during a period of two years students of the Faculty of Drama Arts won the first place two times, once second place, and two times were European champions. This has ranked the Faculty of Drama Arts and this program among the leading educational institutions in the world that produce advertising professionals.
The aim of the study is to train students for interdisciplinary artistic and practical work in media, advertising, public relations; additional theoretical education; developing students’ artistic ability to independently apply technology and creative methods in advertising and media activities.
These studies are specially designed for young professionals in marketing and PR agencies, who acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge to advance themselves to top experts in their fields.
Teaching is held in the premises of the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade, as well as in the advertising agencies. These studies are specially designed to take into account the needs of the employed students and for this reason the classes are organized on Friday afternoons / evenings and Saturdays during the day. Teaching is done in the form of lectures with demonstrations, through individual consultations, exercises and practical work with the application of contemporary methods and technologies in the creative process.
The acquired knowledge and skills enable students to appropriately apply creative, artistic, technical-technological and productive innovations.
Students are trained to apply the gained knpowledge in practice, to develop a wide range of dramatic and audiovisual, commercial and other achievements in accordance with the contemporary achievements of practice and respect for the Code of Professional Ethics.
A graduated student of the Advertising and Media module possesses specialized artistic knowledge in the field of advertising and media, as well as basic theoretical and empirical knowledge in the field of art and artistic production; they have developed cognitive and intellectual skills, key transferable and practical skills; they have a developed ability to work in groups, as well as the ability to work on the most complex, specialized projects of advertising and media production.
