At the final ceremony of Effie Slovenia 2018, the jury awarded three golds, one silver and four bronze Effies, while five campaigns were given honourable mention for entering the finals

The award ceremony of the prestigious, and most coveted awards in the area of efficient market communication in Slovenia, after three years in the framework of SOF in Portorož, returned to Ljubljana, to the Festival Hall where it was last held ten years ago.

Barbara Modic, President of Effie Slovenia 2018, concluded the ninth edition of the awards saying:: “The beauty of the Effies is that they reward the best in the last two years, that with each edition we are professionally growing and that the cards might get completely shuffled by the next edition.”

  • A1 Slovenia and agency Grey Ljubljana, in collaboration with agencies Taktik, Mediodrom, net and Zavod Multipraktik for the campaign Bedtime Storytellers in the category Social Good;
  • Droga Kolinska d.d. / Atlantic Grupa and agency Luna\TBWA, in collaboration with Media Publikum, iProm and Valicon for the campaign Find out how you love them most! in the category Consumer products – Food;
  • Spar Slovenia and agencies Formitas creative and AM komunikacije, in collaboration with partners Pro Plus, NLB and Summit motors for the campaign Start it Up Slovenia! in the category Services – Retail.

Silver Effie 2018 went to:

  • Telekom Slovenije and Pristop, in collaboration with Renderspace and Pristop Media for campaign Blue World in the category Services – Telecommunications and IT.

Bronze Effie 2018 went to:

  • Droga Kolinska d.d. / Atlantic Grupa and agencies Luna\TBWA and Publicis Groupe Slovenia in collaboration with the Agency 101 for the campaign Long-term Strategy of Argeta Junior in the category Long-term Efficiency;
  • Pivovarna Laško Union and agency Luna\TBWA in collaboration with Media Publikum for campaign Laško Stava in the category Consumer Products – Drinks;
  • Lidl Slovenia and agency Luna\TBWA in collaboration with CNJ and OMD Slovenia for the campaign Lidl Celebrates 10th Anniversary in the category Services – Retail;
  • Telekom Slovenije and agency Luna\TBWA in collaboration with Pristop Media for campaign You Support Slovenia, We Care For You, in the B2B category.

For the first time, finalists of Effie Slovenia 2018 were also presented with Honorable Mention recognition:

  • Mercator and the agency ArnoldVuga, in collaboration with Pristop Media and AVI for the campaign Dobro sam in the category Services – Retail;
  • Mercator and the agency ArnoldVuga, in collaboration with Pristop Media for the campaign My Brands in the category Services – Retail;
  • UNICEF Slovenia and the Agency 101 for the campaign Hidden Escape Room in the category Social Good;
  • UNICEF Slovenia and the Agency 101 for the campaign Hidden Escape Room in the category Low-Budget Campaigns;
  • Telekom Slovenije and the agency Pristop, in collaboration with partners Renderspace, Pristop Media and TSmedia for the campaign Za naše in the category Corporate Image and Sponsorship Activation.

Marjana Lavrič Šulman, Managing Director of Effie Slovenia 2018 explained: “This year we decided to introduce a change, and to hand recognitions to finalists on stage, because even the placement in the shortlist is precious. It’s not only prestigious on the level of principles, as a proof that the campaign was successful. Being included in the finals also has very practicle implications – it brings points for the most efficient advertiser, brand and agency; It brings points for the Effie Effectiveness Index and brings points for the Advertiser of the Year, the traditional prize awarded by the Slovenian Advertising Chamber. So, without doubt, finalists also deserve formal recognition!”

In co-operation with the development partner, Institute for Market and Media Research Mediana, a special prize was awarded for the use of research, which went to Spar Slovenia for the campaign Start It Up Slovenia!

For the fourth time, Effie Slovenia awarded the award for the most effective advertiser, agency and brand according to the Effie Effectiveness Index (EEI) methodology,

  • The Most Efficient Advertiser of 2018 title was shared by Droga Kolinska d.d. / Atlantic Grupa and Telekom Slovenije, d.d.;
  • The Most Efficient Agency of 2018 is Luna\TBWA;
  • The Most Efficient Brand of 2018 title was shared by Argeta and Telekom Slovenije.
