It’s the most wonderful time of the year … for Christmas ads in which products magically bring even our wildest dreams to life.
The latest brand to turn your holiday into a literal winter wonderland is Lincoln Motor Company, which uses the theme to promote its Wishlist Sales Event.
In the first broadcast spot (extended version below), a bored young girl named Olivia has some very peculiar wishes. For example, she’d really like to see some snow-flecked palm trees and impromptu, mistletoe-style romance. While we’re at it, why not add a few reindeer in the middle of a California street?

The next, digital-only spot is a more emotionally resonant, documentary-style slice of life. It concerns the efforts of 10-year-old Rylie—who has a busy mom, a family dog and a sister suffering through the horrors of braces—to create a special holiday with a little help from a handy Lincoln and its generous cargo space.

To develop the concepts for this campaign, the Lincoln team sat down with kids and asked them to share their tips for wishing. They found Rylie’s story so inspiring that they decided to make it a reality.
Jon Pearce, global chief creative officer of the brand’s dedicated agency Hudson Rogue, said, “Hoping to stand out amidst the sea of Santas, elves and red bows in other holiday spots, it’s the good-natured innocence of our kids that keeps the holidays a bit cheerier. And we sure do need that right now.”
