Six businesses shared their stories with more than 120 guests at the first Business Café in Novi Sad, held two days ago at the café Šećer&Soul.
The first meeting was led by Kristina Ercegović, founder of the Business Café from Zagreb.
Svetlana Mojić, a woman who designs yachts, winner of international and domestic awards, said that she erred a lot, but that the most important thing is to quickly correct such errors. With a smile, she commented that, had she knew what was waiting for her, she wouldn’t embark on her entrepreneurial adventure. As the secret of her success, along with networking, she pointed out that she doesn’t show the draft designs to her clients until she is proud of what she made.
Dragan Varagić, internet consultant, said it’s crucial to do what we like, and all that we need to know, we will learn along the way. He pointed out an interesting advice for selling something to particularly successful individuals who “have everything” – with them, it’s crucial to get them interested in something.
Aleksandar Pokrajac, owner of the business incubator that helps people turn ideas into a business venture said he quit his successful position because he felt neither fulfilled, nor satisfied. As a first step he stressed the need to always first change ourselves, because there is no difference between business and private life, everything is connected.
Igor Erhartič, owner of two NS City Hostels, thrilled everyone with his performance. After a successful sports career, he opted for the hotel industry because, he says, he loves people, he loves to hang out with people. He emphasized that we should always start from what we love, what is our passion, and when we consider business ideas to ask ourselves “is this me?” and not look at others and what they are doing. Not to look whether this or that is worth more. He also pointed out that it’s essential not to envy others, because if they achieve something, that’s just a sign for us that anything is possible. He also stressed that we should be mindful of the balance, and that family is the most important thing to him and his wife, and both of these parents of two small children have their own businesses.
Branko Koprivica, a well-known musician and owner of several restaurants, including the one where Business Café was held, was delighted with the response and the atmosphere. He told the guests how he talked with his mother about how he wants to be his own boss already at the age of 7. Of course, for a long time he didn’t know exactly what to do, but as advice to everyone else, he said that they should always follow their intuition.
Kristina Ercegović jumped into the role of a guest as the sixth entrepreneur, and briefly told part of her own entrepreneurial story. She was interviewed by Kristina Zubanov, owner of Simply Fit Health Club from Kikinda, the organizing partner for Vojvodina.
In the end, guests were addressed by Aleksandra Velimirović Janakievski, fashion coach and one of the faces from the Belgrade Workshop, and Marija Radojčić, the person behind Jazački cheese.
In addition to inspirational stories and new information, guests also enjoyed wines of the winery Erdevik and fresh Jazački cheese. With the excellent performance of the band Three Goats, among whose members are the owner of the bar and one of the guests, Business Café extended to the early morning hours.
Instead of regular tickets, this time donations were collected that will be delivered to the Children’s Village.
Media sponsor for Vojvodina is portal 021. Among sponsors in Serbia, at this event we Grand Kafa and Belgrade Workshop, which is in charge of styling at all public appearances of Kristina Ercegović, founder of Business Café.
After Novi Sad, Business Café was held in Ljubljana last night, 2 June.
