In 2015, advertisers invested more money, time and effort into marketing on social networks than ever before. By the end of next year, 89 percent of US advertisers, who have at least 100 employees, will use social networks for marketing purposes.
According to eMarketer forecasts, Facebook and Twitter in 2016 will still be the leading social networks among US advertisers, but Instagram is hot on their heels. Next year, Instagram will be used by nearly half of advertisers while in 2014 it was used only by 18.4 percent of them. Now that Instagram is open to all advertisers, it is gaining in importance. In 2017 it will already be used by 70.7 percent of advertisers in the US, which is more than Twitter, which will serve 67.2 percent of US advertisers. Even in two years, Facebook will still remain the most popular social network among advertisers, but its use will not grow as fast.
