Cheese and wine may be one of the most famous gastro-pairs, but their tasting, serving and pairing is often accompanied by a lot of mystification. Both are foods rich in folklore, they require art in both production and consumption, so choosing the right combination is not always an easy task for ordinary mortals.
Because of this, cheese company from Croatian city of Bjelovar, Sirela, and the creative agency Švicarska, came up with an idea to simplify this complicated gastronomic story and make it easier for us all to make choices. They presented a limited edition of cheeses, and selected Croatian winegrowers, of which named a wine with a very simple name – by the cheese it should be paired with.
As in any harmonious relationship, it is ideal when the cheese and wine draw the best from one another, so the Taste of Croatia collective, or more precisely its “wine core”, Morana Zibar and Lada Radin, helped make the pairs.
A special visual identity was created for the project, based on the Sirevi.hr web portal, using purified typography on specially designed labels and telling a special story for every wine and its cheese.
The results of pairing were also featured on socializing with food bloggers at Vinoteka Vintesa in Zagreb, where you can find your perfect cheese and wine couple in a limited edition.
