In front of the overcrowded Playground Innovation Center, successful professionals of advertising industry talked about their different experiences. The idea that failures should be disclosed and shared with others in this way, was realized by the Integrated Marketing Communications Agency DNA Communications and the Center for the Development of Technological Entrepreneurship and Innovation ICT Hub.
“From FuckUp, that hurt me the most, I learned the most important things. If you change slower than the environment in which you live, you will be punished. I also learned that perfectionism as a trait will not lead you to success in the 21st century. You are an ‘AND’ generation, and as such, you have become dominant over us who knew only ‘EITHER-OR’,” said first speaker Miša Lukić, CEO for Central and Eastern Europe at Publicis One. He also noticed that today we are all learning how to communicate and write, and he made a mistake the moment he did not listen and watched the client. “FuckUps are much better teachers than success. So practice timely. Take one egg, throw it into the air and let it fall. Take another and do the same. You get accustomed at it falling and breaking, so don’t be afraid,” said Miša Lukic.
Bojan Joksimović, general manager of O5 brand and design consultancy, said that no matter how successful we are in business, we have to keep track with time and advertising, which as such is subject to constant changes.
Tatjana Andrić, account manager for DNA Communications, recalled the FuckUp experience that taught her team that regardless how good of a job they do, the customer service always comes first. “The result of our work is not just numbers, but the pleasure of the other side and nurturing relations,” she said.
“I’ve been in advertising for nineteen years, but from the moment I decided to launch my firm, I realized that it was impossible to set aside one FuckUp for this occasion … because everything was FuckUp,” explained Boris Marčetić, owner and creative director of Popular, adding that he absolutely loves advertising and doesn’t know what else would he be doing, as well as that he supports everyone who is thinking of joining this profession.
After unexpectedly great interest and great impressions of the Advertising Fail Stories event, DNA Communications and ICT Hub announce new events from this edition of FuckUp Nights.
FuckUp Nights, a global movement and a series of events that discuss business ventures in a free and open way, has been active since 2012 in more than 250 cities around the world. The movement was created with the aim of fighting social disapproval which is linked to the concept of failure, and making failure an integral part of the process of building successful business stories. Evidence that a change of thinking about failure is present can be found in the huge popularity of FuckUp Nights events around the globe.
