How can consumers and brands better understand media?

What are the main characteristics of media? What are the trends in the media? What is media planning process? How to get the best media mix? What are the specifics of advertising on the Internet? How can consumers and brands in abundance of media better understand them? These are just some of the topics addressed at the latest I&F McCann Corner by Marija Joksimović and Aleksandar Đorđević from the agency Universal Media (UM), which operates under the I&F McCann Group.

Lecture titled Brand and Consumer in Media Environment was devoted to media, new channels of communication and online advertising.

“Although we are surrounded by various media at all times, few people know how the media really works,” said Marija Joksimović, Digital Account Director, Universal Media. “The aim of this session was to inform participants about the basic media terms, and give them a picture on how advertising in the media works.”

The lecture was devoted primarily to university students who study the disciplines in the field of media, but also all others interested in the subject.

“It was inspirational to give a lecture to students – some of whom may become our colleagues tomorrow. Although they are studying at universities which teach the so-called media disciplines, most had not had a chance to meet with business of a media agency,” said Aleksandar Đorđević, Strategic Planning Director, Universal Media. “I hope that after this session they will have a better insight and knowledge of the media agencies, advertising, as well as relationship between brands and consumers.”

I&F McCann Corner is organized in collaboration between American Corner Belgrade and the I&F McCann Group, within which a number of specialized agencies operate. Through a series of lectures, the goal is to inform high school and university students, young entrepreneurs and all interested about various areas such as communications, PR, human resources, media, creative and digital industries, or rather all the skills that will help them in their professional growth and career development.

Lectures in the context of I&F McCann Corner are held every last Wednesday of the month, in the hall of Youth Center in Belgrade.
