A new experimental short film titled “Happy Valentine’s DA.I.” examines how technology may reshape human relationships, offering a thought-provoking take on intimacy, emotion and creativity in an AI-mediated world. The project is the result of a collaboration between Rebolucion AI, About Entertainment and creative agency ISLA, and was released in February 2026 as a non-profit artistic and cultural experiment.
Set in a near future where artificial intelligence influences both environments and emotional expression, the seven-minute film imagines a Valentine’s Day in which love is increasingly filtered through algorithms. Characters appear able to express themselves primarily through programmed language, raising questions about authenticity, connection and the role of technology in emotional life.
The narrative explores how software mediation may blur the boundary between genuine feeling and algorithmic suggestion, prompting viewers to reflect on whether expressions of love retain the same meaning when shaped or generated by AI systems.
Although the visuals were created using AI tools, the script was written by ISLA’s creative team. According to creative directors Ezequiel De Luca and Nicolas Diaco, the project was designed as a practical exploration of AI’s creative potential: “We believe the most insightful way of understanding what AI can contribute to creativity is to put it to the test – not only on a technical level, but also an emotional one. This short film is an excuse to explore new ways of telling stories, incorporating technology as part of the process.”
Directed by Sebastian Lopez, the film was developed over a ten-month period through cross-disciplinary collaboration covering concept development, scriptwriting, production and post-production. The creators describe it primarily as an experimental cultural piece rather than a commercial production, intended to spark discussion about AI’s evolving role in storytelling and human relationships.
Beyond its dystopian tone, Happy Valentine’s DA.I. reflects a broader industry conversation about artificial intelligence in creative work. While AI has already proven effective in generating imagery and automating production tasks, projects like this aim to test whether it can also support emotionally resonant storytelling.
As brands, agencies and production studios increasingly integrate AI into creative workflows, experiments such as this highlight both the opportunities and the uncertainties surrounding technology’s influence on human expression, intimacy and culture.
