Within the festival Days of Communication, which will be held 14 to 17 April in Rovinj, 107 works are in the running for the IdeaX, an award that recognizes the most creative works regardless of the type of media. The largest number of entries was in categories: Telecommunication services, Best integrated campaign and Self-promotion and corporate communications. Works have been entered by 34 agencies that have worked on campaigns for 54 different advertisers.
The entries for IdeaX were commented by Siniša Waldinger, president of the jury: “We are delighted that this year 107 works were entered for the IdeaX. That’s an increase of 25 works in relation to last year. That alone will make the work of the jury of ten experienced creative professionals, selected according to the final standings from last year’s competition, even more challenging and demanding. In any case, we will try to seek for that X ingredient in all the works that came, that holy grail of every idea that rises it above the average, and makes certain communication interesting, fun and shareable.”
At this year’s Days of Communication for the first time will be held the competition for young agency professionals, the Young Lions, sponsored by Erste Bank, which is part of the global competition within the Cannes festival. 18 teams from 12 agencies have applied for the Young Lions, and their task will be to come up with campaigns in categories Print, Cyber and Design within 24 hours, and a campaign for the Film category within 48 hours. The best of the four winning teams will be rewarded with a trip to the Cannes Lions 2016.
The award ceremony of IdeaX and the Young Lions will be held on Saturday, 16 April.
