The free Google Analytics tool serves for tracking the success of a website and its purpose is similar to that of the instrument panel in your car. Knowing how to monitor and analyze the data provided by Google Analytics is similar to a comfortable ride in a modern car. On a nice and sunny day, it doesn’t matter if you’re driving an old Golf Mk2 or a brand new Mercedes. You’ll reach your destination with each. But in bad weather, it’s much safer to adjust your driving with the help of information you receive from the dashboard.
Imagine for example that your boss sent you on a trip to a different city. The weather is nice so you arrive there with no problems. But the boss then calls and says they need you back urgently because there’s a problem in production which you have to solve, so you decided to head on back. As soon as you get into the mountains on the way back, the weather worsens and it starts to rain. So now you are trying to get back to the office in fog, rain and darkness. In an old Golf, the ride is becoming increasingly difficult. The glass is blurring, you can’t see the road and are not sure whether you have enough fuel to get back to the office, especially after two wrong turns because the roads were under repairs. With a newer car, all this poses no problem, because you have a variety of devices and tools to help you safely operate a car. Air conditioning is keeping the glass fog free, ESP is helping you to stay on the road, and if you know how to read the screen of the onboard computer, you’ll be able to see how many kilometers you can go with the fuel remaining and in current drive mode. With the help of GPS you’ll know which is the shortest route to your destination, especially when you encounter works on the road (changing the marketing strategy), and you can tell your boss exactly when you’ll be able to arrive (deadline), and if you have enough fuel (budget) to return.
Today it’s impossible to have a successful website if you don’t have analytics tools for it. As with driving, our goal is not to just look at the data on the screen, but use this information for a better result.
Simple to use, the Google Analytics platform is a real “beast” of a tools that allows growth if you know how to and have a will to set it up properly. This is the knowledge that will be shared at the seminar “Google Analytics – How successful is your website”, which will be held 21 June 2017 in Mostar; 22 june 2017 in Sarajevo and 23 June 2017 in Banja Luka.
The lecturer is Robert Petkovic – psychologist by profession with over 20 years of experience in the digital field, where he started as a web developer and spent the last 10 years as one of the foremost analysts in the region.
