The conference segment of Weekend.19 will be accompanied by a music program spanning evening parties, concerts and daytime outdoor events. The festival will take place in Rovinj from 24 to 27 September, with a concert by Songkillers on the Expo Stage bringing the party program to a close.
The program begins on Thursday with the MTV Farewell Party, during which Stanko Bondža and Anđelko Preradović will combine the music and videos that defined the MTV era in a DJ/VJ performance.
Friday brings the ID Polo Party powered by Zubak grupa, featuring Filip Jelaš, before the evening continues with the Studio 54 Party. The concept is inspired by the New York club that defined the disco era, whose atmosphere the program intends to bring to Rovinj.
Saturday’s program will conclude with a concert by Songkillers. The band will bring its blend of funk, soul and pop to the Expo Stage, with the performance announced as the central concert of this year’s party program.
In addition to the evening events, Weekend.19 will introduce the Listening Room powered by Rotary Audio for the first time at the Rovinj Tobacco Factory. The space is modelled on the Japanese jazz kissa culture, which focuses on attentive music listening through high-quality audio systems. The selections will be played on a McIntosh Laboratory system provided by Rotary Audio.
The Listening Room program begins on Thursday with a performance by Emil Tedeschi, also known as SMS Deutsch, and the presentation of a double-LP compilation by Songkillers, which will go on sale the same day. The first three albums by Jinx, the album Viva la Habana! by Cubismo and a new compilation will also be presented. Željko Banić Bane of Songkillers and Hrvoje Rupčić of Cubismo will take part in the program and sign records.
DJ and record collector Soul Bader will also perform in the Listening Room, while Saturday’s program will feature Electric Caffe by Nik Orosi and The Wrong Genre Reaction by Arsen Oremović.
Daytime music events will also take place on the Open Air Stage, where Tomo Ricov will step behind the DJ booth. Friday will feature the Cekin Rock’n’Roll Party, followed by Cekin Rock around chicken on Saturday.
In this way, Weekend OFF spreads its music program across most of the festival day, from events between panels to evening parties and the closing concert.
