In the next two weeks, if you find yourself on one of the 80 selected public transport stops in Belgrade, you will probably have the opportunity to enjoy the most beautiful verses of young, emerging poets.
“I am buying you with a song, because I have nothing else, with sweet words I woo you for so long,” these are the verses of one of the authors of the younger Serbian poetry scene, whose poem Belgraders can enjoy as of yesterday at the public transport stops.
“Thanks to the crew with positive energy and a developed sense of community at ‘Čilo i Vedro’, which likes to turn routine into fun, and share its ideas with the citizens of Belgrade, we will have the opportunity to support these young people, who diligently prepared their lyrics for the Belgrade audience. These are not just beautiful verses, but also messages that remind us of the true values of life and poetry that can make us happy every day,” said IDEA, the company behind the project Belgrade, city of your IDEAS under which this campaign was made.
“When a fantasy gets its own life, and meaningful things, like poetry, come to town stations, it’s a cause for celebration. Eighty stations, nine authors and sixteen poems make us believe in dreams,” said Kristina Đurasinović, an IDEA creator of one of the most creative ideas that will be realized this summer in Belgrade.
Slavoljub Stanković, the famous writer who, along with other members of the jury, voted for poetry to be found on the streets of Belgrade, said: “I’m honored to be part of a project that aims to beautify but also to culturally enrich our capital. In this way young writers will have the opportunity to present their works and themselves to the general public.”
This is just one of the 011 different ideas of Belgrade’s citizens that IDEA will realize this summer, following the light motif of the campaign “Who in Belgrade lives and creates this Belgrade”. What else have Belgrades come up with, and IDEA is planning to implement, you can find out at www.BGvasihIDEA.rs.
