Favorite Croatian beer pushes boundaries again and sends an important message

The famous Žuja acting trio in a new TV commercial reminds us of the importance of good deeds in everyday life because what makes us great – are the small things.

Favorite Croatian beer, Ožujsko, has launched a new brand campaign, “Be Great, Do a Small Thing.” In the new Žuja campaign, the well-known acting trio, consisting of Goran Navojec, Goran Bogdan, and Rene Bitorajac, embodies great people – giants – who, through their actions, remind us of a simple yet powerful message: what makes us great are the small things.

Through humorous and touching everyday scenes, the campaign celebrates the little things we can do for each other: offer a smile, help someone, or simply say a kind word because these small gestures make a difference in people’s lives. Whether it’s a friend, a neighbor, or a complete stranger, the greatness of a person is measured by the attention we show each other.

In a world that often calls for grand words and sweeping gestures, Žuja reminds us that true greatness lies in humility, attention, and kindness.

“We believe that Croatians recognize Žuja as a brand that has become a kind of synonym for friendship and togetherness, for humor, warmth, and that authentic Croatian atmosphere. Our campaigns are essentially small films, carefully and thoughtfully crafted. Each Žuja campaign has the same goal – to spread positive messages that encourage change in society. With this campaign, we wanted to convey that greatness doesn’t lie in big words or status but in the small everyday gestures we make for each other. Žuja has always been a symbol of sincere emotions, and we are happy to highlight that once again through this story. We believe the message ‘Be Great, Do a Small Thing’ will resonate positively with our consumers and remind us all of what truly matters,” said Ana Štebih Pinjuh, Marketing Director of Zagrebačka Pivovara.

The new campaign, with its concept created by the creative agency BBDO – Žuja’s long-time partner, was filmed using the latest technology and blue screen techniques in the studio. The blue background is used to later replace it with another image, video, or animation in post-production. This technique created the effect of ‘giant’ actors walking through Croatia.

The filming of the TV spot lasted for three days, gathering as many as 160 people on set, with the result being 9 hours of recorded material that was then edited and processed during 560 hours of post-production.

“For this campaign, we wanted something totally different from anything we’ve done for Žuja before. Something new, yet still so characteristic of Žuja. We wanted a campaign that, in its execution, is big, perhaps even Hollywood-style megalomaniacal, but in its message so simple, unpretentious, and above all human. And to achieve this, we asked our actors Rene, Bogdan, and Navojec for just one thing: to play the greatest role of their lives,” said Almir Okanović, Creative Director at BBDO.

The new Žuja campaign is available at the LINK’s and will also air on national TV, digital channels, and social media, with the strong message reaching consumers at all Žuja sales points.
