Entries for the ninth edition of the prestigious contest Effie Croatia Awards 2018 officially open today. The Croatian marketing industry will once again celebrate the most effective agencies and advertisers who have shown strategic thinking, conducted the most creative campaigns and achieved outstanding results. That is why the award is awarded under the slogan “Ideas that work”. But apart from the most effective projects, Effie also recognizes the joint efforts of advertisers and agencies that have created such great projects in partnership.
“According to Ipsos’ research from 2016, Effie Award is the most important marketing award in the opinion of advertisers, so we are inviting everyone to apply, which they can do until 22 February, 2018,” said Mario Fraculj, Member of the Organizing Committee of Effie Croatia and member of the Governing Board of HURA. Eligible to apply are projects and campaigns that took place in Croatia from 1.9.2016. until 31.1.2018. Announcement of the best advertisers, agencies and projects will be held at the awards ceremony during the central market communications festival in Croatia, Days of Communications.
What is new at Effie Croatia 2018?
- This year special emphasis is placed on long-term effectiveness so no the eponymous category accepts entries whose communication was effective in a period of three or more years.
- Effie committee is also introducing changes to the manner of scoring, so now in addition to numerical ratings, the jury will also enter qualitative notes. These descriptive ratings and comments of jury members will provide essential insight into the jury opinions, so entrants who are interested in feedback will get to see what especially impressed the jury in their entries, and can thus learn from those experiences. “We believe this mechanism will help improve quality of entries in the long-term, but also in the jury processes. Ultimately, it will represent another step forward in the quality and organization of the entire contest,” said Dunja Ivana Ballon, member of the organizing committee of the competition and director of the Festival.
- Organization Effie Worldwide has decided, in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation, to support the Sustainable Development Program 2030 – the initiative launched by the United Nations with the aim of eliminating poverty, fight against inequalities and injustice, and solving the climate issues by 2030. Although these data will not be available to the jury, nor will in any way affect the rating of entries, with the aim of collecting data on accomplishments in the industry of market communications and with the aim of encouraging positive change, all entrants to Effie will be required to fill out the form for this purpose when they register their works.
