Applications for the prestigious Effie Awards Croatia competition have officially opened, marking the start of a new search for the most effective marketing projects in Croatia. As the leading standard of effectiveness that rewards achieved results, Effie once again introduces important advancements this year in order to keep pace with industry development and respond to the needs of an increasingly diverse market.
“Effie is known as the award most loved by clients and advertisers because it measures concrete market results. Agencies value it because it is where you learn the most about processes and organisation – those who follow Effie frameworks will certainly have well-structured and measurable objectives, and therefore a better foundation for creative processes and high-quality results that can be communicated transparently. Among other things, this year the Organising Committee focused on demystifying the perceived complexity of the application process and on organising all possible forms of support throughout the entry process, from education to consultations. We believe this will motivate those applicants who have not yet dared to take part in the Effie competition. It truly is worth the effort! Not so much because of the award itself, but because of the experience and progress it brings,” said Jelena Fiškuš (Studio Sonda), member of the Effie Awards Croatia Organising Committee.
Expansion of categories for more precise market evaluation
In order to ensure more detailed assessment of projects from different sectors, five new product and service categories have been introduced:
- Automotive industry and aftersales
- Energy
- Travel and tourism
- Culture and arts, and
- Sport, entertainment and leisure.
The new categories enable more precise classification of entries and further strengthen Effie’s ability to follow the specific challenges and opportunities of individual industries.
This season also introduces new special categories designed to address a specific business situation or challenge. In entries submitted for special categories, it is important to present the business situation or challenge in accordance with the defined criteria, that is, the category definition. The list of new special categories includes:
- Product / service launch
- Innovation in marketing and business
- Influencer Marketing.
Creative video summary with results presentation
One of the most significant novelties this year is the upgrade of the creative video summary, which can now also include campaign results. The video summary may last up to three minutes, or up to four minutes in the Long-Term Effectiveness category. It must clearly present the key elements of the work, and all results shown must also be included in the written part of the entry. Since the video summaries of finalists and winning entries will be publicly available, they must not contain confidential information.
Entry deadlines and benefits for applicants
The early entry deadline closes on 16 January 2026, the regular entry deadline runs until 2 February, and the late entry deadline is 20 February 2026. This year’s qualification period covers effective projects realised from 20 August 2024 to 20 February 2026, while in the Long-Term Effectiveness category, which focuses on the continuity of a project’s marketing success, projects and campaigns implemented in Croatia from 20 February 2023 to 20 February 2026 will be eligible.
A special benefit has been introduced for all new entrants and those who have not submitted projects in the past three years: these applicants are entitled to a 30% discount on their first entry this season, further expanding the community of professionals who promote and demonstrate marketing effectiveness through their work.
Entries are now open, and all additional information on categories, deadlines and applications is available on the official competition website www.effie.hr. The awards ceremonies will take place at Dani komunikacija in May.
