Netflix has begun airing a new season of the series Emily in Paris, which apparently influences the growing popularity of marketing manager jobs. This is reported by the portal Skyline Social, which states that since the premiere of the first part of the series (in October 2020), interest in marketing (the main character, American Emily, is employed at a Parisian advertising agency) has surged. In online search engines, the search for the term “marketing degree” in the USA has increased by 88.6%, while globally it has risen by 75.4%. During the same period, the search for the term “marketing job” in the USA has increased by 49%, while the term “marketing career” has seen a rise of as much as 82.1%, reports Skyline Social.
“Since 2020, the series Emily in Paris has become a global phenomenon, and research shows that it was the most-watched show on Netflix in 2022,” said Ash Davis, CEO and founder of Skyline Social. “It’s clear that viewers are not only drawn to the curated wardrobe worn by actress Lily Collins in the series but also to a career in marketing. It will be interesting to follow the numbers now that Netflix has released the fourth season,” he adds.
The “Emily” Phenomenon
Some brands have also capitalized on the popularity of the series—ice cream brand Häagen-Dazs, for example, released a limited edition ice cream collection to coincide with the premiere of the new season, and the campaign was called Be More Emily. The new ice cream collection features the brand’s most popular flavors, strawberry and salted caramel, available in elegant packaging designed in the style of the series.

Toasting in style was taken care of by the brand Quintessential Brands, which announced that a ready-to-drink version of the French kir royale cocktail, called Chamère, will soon be available. Since Emily drank kir royale in the series, this cocktail has become one of the most sought-after cocktails in the world.
