“Ne budite ovce, pazite na svoje novce” (Don’t be a sheep, mind your money”) is the slogan of the latest media campaign of Argentum, a Croatian chain of jewelry shops, which informs people in a humorous and accessible way about the dangers of entering the wrong gold purchasing shop, of which there are still many on the Croatian market.
By continuously monitoring the purchase price of gold in the country, it has been shown that citizens lose thousands every day because they fail to get up to date information about the best prices for gold. Some buyers take advantage of the ignorance of their clients and don’t pay them the correct amount. This is because buyers do not regulate their gold prices in line with those in the world market of precious metals, which have recently increased again because of Brexit, the UK’s referendum to leave the EU.
The two principle faces in Argentum’s humorous campaign – actress Ivana Boban and the young actor Denis Bosak – inform people of these dangers, as well as about where they can sell their gold under the most favorable conditions. In the campaign, they are named the “most naive”, as they agreed to a low purchase price for their gold and, for the purposes of the campaign, are announced the winners of the “Golden Sheep” award. The TV spot was directed by Vid Begić, and the director of photography was Branko Cahun.
