Diego Marani, Cultural Policy Coordinator, in charge of cultural diplomacy at the European External Action Service, is coming to this year’s Play Media Day!
The EU’s approach to culture and the current process of development and adoption of the EU and Western Balkans cultural cooperation strategy, in line with the EU Strategy for International Cultural Relations, will be the focus of his lecture which will be held at the CineStar 4DX Delta Planet, in Banja Luka.
He will also talk about developing and designing a window for the “Creative Europe for the Western Balkans” program and developing and designing regional programs on culture and creativity in the Western Balkans.
Culture as a way of promoting development and youth, as a driver of social cohesion and reconciliation, and as an instrument for open and critical thinking is a very important link in the development of a country as well as the region. This award-winning writer and columnist, whose work is translated into several languages, has long experience in EU institutions. He was in charge of multilingualism at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Culture, as well as a consultant for European Affairs at the Italian Minister of Culture. He is the creator of Europant, the language in which he wrote and published books and articles in various European media. His most famous novel, “Nuova grammatica finlandese”, was translated into several languages and received a literary prize, Grinzane Cavour in Italy.
“Arrival of the EU representative to the regional communication event Play Media Day is of great importance for the development of culture and creative industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region”, organizers state.
Regional communication event Play Media Day 04 will present the best program to date, with about 40 lecturers and panelists, at the new attractive venue, CineStar 4DX Delta Planet!
This year’s program is held in three conference halls – Uranus, Mercury and Jupiter, which will offer a total of three attractive panels as well as 18 lectures, making this year’s event among the richest programs in the region.
