Award ceremony of the Days of Communication was held Saturday, with presentations of the X Awards winners, and the announcement of this year’s winners of the Young Lions Croatia competition. The Young Lions Croatia is part of the global competition Cannes Young Lions. The winners of the Grand Prix of the Croatian edition will be given the opportunity to present their skills and creativity together with colleagues from around the world, at the Young Lions competition which will take place in June as part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The national creative competition IdejaX on the other hand celebrates original ideas that push the boundaries, regardless of the type of media in which they are realized in the market. In the past six years 779 works competed for these prestigious awards, and given the great results of agencies of all sizes, the organizers point out that everyone has the same chance of success.
As part of the competition Young Lions Croatia task was to create a campaign for the service Green Phone (Zeleni telefon) that encourages citizens to actively participate in environmental protection. The prestigious Grand Prix award and a trip to the Cannes Lions Festival 2017 was won by Matko Buntić and Fran Mubrin from the Agency 404 for their “Green footprint” work, which made them the best team in the Cyber category. Among other best young lions were Đorđe Janković and Tomislav Šestak from Bruketa & Žinić OM for their work “Donatura” in the Design category, and Maja Dujlović and Nina Remenar from agency Komunikacijski laboratorij with their work “Call for nature” in the category of public relations.
X Award for the Agency of the Year went to the agency McCann Zagreb, while the X Award for the Advertiser of the Year went to the Croatian Telecom.
Projects that have been awarded with the golden X Award were: “Phenomenal Croatia” by agency BBDO Zagreb and advertiser Zagreb Brewery in the beverage category; “Don’t torture yourself” by the agency Señor and advertiser Mylan in the category of fashion, health and beauty; “BOOKtiga award” by the agency Studio Sonda and advertiser Public Library of Poreč in the category of tourism, culture and leisure; “Rollover” by McCann Zagreb and advertiser Croatian Telecom in the category of telecommunications; “Be at your home” by agency UTORAK and advertiser Erste Bank in the category of financial and insurance services; “Let’s talk the language of equality” by agency Imago Ogilvy and advertiser Ženska Soba in the category of social action; and “Rollover” by McCann Zagreb and advertiser Croatian Telecom for the best integrated campaign.
Projects awarded a silver X Award are: “Piquentum St. Vital 2014” by the agency Studio Sonda and advertiser Wine Cellar Buzet in the category of beverages; “Out Of Office Award” by agency BBDO Zagreb and advertiser Croatian Tourist Board in the category of tourism, culture and leisure; “Pepeo/Rupa/Uši” by McCann Zagreb and advertiser Croatian Telecom in the category of telecommunications; “A good ad goes a long way” by Señor and advertiser Outdoor Akzent in the category of media and publishing; “Neighbors” by Bruketa & Žinić OM and the advertiser Croatia osiguranje in the category of financial and insurance services; “Hope” by Bruketa & Žinić OM and advertiser Adris Grupa in the category of corporate communications and “Let’s talk the language of equality” by Imago Ogilvy for advertiser Ženska Soba for the best integrated campaign.
Projects awarded a bronze X Award are: “Staropramen SOFA” by the agency BBDO Zagreb and advertiser Molson Coors in the beverage category; “Toothbrush” by Bruketa & Žinić OM and advertiser Vipnet in the category of telecommunications; “Job vacancy” by McCann Zagreb and advertiser Epamedia in the category of media and publishing; “The devil never sleeps” by the agency Gray Worldwide Zagreb and advertiser Wiener insurance Vienna insurance Group in the category of financial and insurance industries; “Superseniors” by McCann Zagreb and advertiser Foundation Zajednički put/Slagalica in the category of social action; and “Phenomenal Croatia” by BBDO Zagreb and Zagreb brewery for the best integrated campaign.
X Award for best copywriting went to the project “Be at your home” by agency UTORAK and advertiser Erste Bank in the category of financial and insurance services. X Award for best design and art direction went to the project “Rollover” by McCann Zagreb and Croatian Telecom for the best integrated campaign. The “Less is More” project by BBDO Zagreb and Molson Coors in category of beverages won the X Award for the best craft, production or use of technology in an advertising material.
