The fifth edition of the festival Days of Communication will be held from March 30 to April 2 at hotel Lone in Rovinj, organized by HURA and IAB Croatia. With each new event, Days of Communication are dedicated to the increasing integration of trends and professions within the marketing communications industry, and the same vision permeates this year’s program. After integration of online and offline, creativity and efficiency, and Cannes and Croatia, this year we will see integration of advertising and public relations through new programming and speakers, such as the former consultant of Croatia’s Social Democratic Party (SDP) Alex Brown. Organizers also emphasize the extension of the festival to three days.
“Marketing communications industry is witnessing the emergence of new communication tools and channels, and accordingly the agencies have armed themselves with additional knowledge. Such a holistic view of communication is reflected by this year’s Days of Communication, with topics from the world of PR and advertising. Since integration is not a one-off and final goal, we see our way as a step closer to this ideal. We are at 359.99 degrees of integration, announcing our focus to keep up with the trends in the industry and improve the festival,” said Davor Bruketa, President of HURA, amid the launch of the new edition of the festival.
In the segment dedicated to public relations, certainly the biggest name is Alex Brown, “Campaign Wizard” as he was referred to by Forbes, and Consultant of the Year by the American Association of Political Consultants. This expert of political marketing has left his mark even in the Croatian political scene during the collaboration with the SDP. Also to hold a lecture at the Days of Communication is a legend in the advertising industry, co-founder and name partner of the legendary American agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Chuck Porter. Under his leadership, CP+B was named the Agency of the Decade (Advertising Age), and he, together with Martha Stewart and Michael Dell, has been included on the list of “26 most fascinating entrepreneurs”.
With a number of lecturers and their inspirational practices, visitors will be able to participate in a series of workshops and competitions that have been improved this year with new guidelines. Organizers invite all interested parties to register in large numbers. Entries for Effie Awards, awarded to the most efficient agencies and advertisers, are open until 20 February. Agencies can also enter their best digital projects for the Mixx competition until 5 March, while the entries for the national creative competition IdejaX will be open until 10 March.
Organizers expect a record number of participants at Days of Communication 2017, from Croatia and the region, and they can expect an official program that is richer for an entire day, and a multitude of accompanying entertainment. With early bird registration fees for the festival start from 1,250 HRK (€166), with special offers 5+2 and 10+5 free.
