Davor Bruketa is the first Croatian designer to be included in the Red Dot Design Diary. This special publication is released once a year by the organizers of the Red Dot Design Award competition and is designed to combine practical information and inspiration for designers as well as professionals connected to design across different industries. This year, for the first time, a Croatian designer has been included in it.
Throughout his thirty-year career, Bruketa has served as a creative director on 29 projects that have been awarded the Red Dot Award, three of which won the Best of the Best distinction.
The inclusion of Davor Bruketa in the Red Dot Design Diary highlights his contribution to the industry and places Croatia on the map as a country rich in talent. This recognition could open doors to new collaborations and projects both within and beyond Croatia. Being featured in the Red Dot Design Diary is not only a personal achievement but also an acknowledgment of all those working to advance design in Croatia.
“It is truly an honor to stand ‘date by date’ with the greatest legends in the history of design, but I must say that this recognition is, above all, a reflection of the joint effort and creativity of our team. I am proud that we can show that ideas from Croatia are recognized on a global level. I hope this will inspire other designers in Croatia to believe in their visions and continue creating with enthusiasm,” said Bruketa.

Bruketa&Žinić&Grey (then Bruketa&Žinić) won its first Red Dot Best of the Best award in 2007 for Podravka’s annual report “An Excerpt from the Eternal Debate on the Heart.” This annual report was designed as a book of evidence, emphasizing that everything should be done with heart. The heart, as the essence of the Podravka brand, runs through the entire book. The central part features a handwritten piece by Ante Tomić, where he autobiographically discusses Podravka’s products in relation to his childhood. This illustrates how, for millions of people in the region, Podravka’s products are linked to childhood memories.
Following this award, numerous others followed for various clients.
