The creative director of advertising agency Bruketa & Žinić OM Davor Bruketa has been invited to the jury of this year’s Red Dot competition. This is one of the most respected and the world’s largest event in the field of visual communications, organized by the German Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. Judging will take place from 11 to 14 of July in Essen, Germany.
As stated on the official website of the competition, jury will include renowned experts in the field of visual communications worldwide. Bruketa & Žinić OM has so far won sixteen Red Dot awards, of which two Grand Prix for the best in class. To ensure the objectivity of the judging, organizers make sure that members of the jury are not participating in the competition, or rather that works of their agencies or studios are not in the running.
The jury consists of designers, professors and specialized journalists who evaluate the works directly, on the spot, and not on the screen, as is often the case in similar competitions. Every work is examined and assessed individually, and the main criteria for evaluation are innovation, originality and quality of performance. The Red Dot through decades of existence established itself as an international platform and recognized proof of quality in the world of visual communications. This is best illustrated by the fact that last year over 17,000 works were reported from 70 countries.
“Red Dot Award has great reputation, and it’s partly fueled by the jury, the heart of this competition. For the sake of continuity on the one hand, and innovation on the other, part of the jury always remains the same, while each year new members are added with new experiences. This exchange between established and new members provides an inspiring vitality and fair assessment in accordance with the times,” said prof. dr. Peter Zec, President of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and the founder of the Red Dot.
