According to research by the Carnegie Institute of Technology in the USA, 85 percent of personal financial success is the result of skills in “human engineering”, which are based on personality, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, while only 15 percent is a result of technical knowledge. Recognizing this, Siniša Drobnjak, the organizer of the D Business Leadership Summit, has gathered healthcare managers for the fifth consecutive year with the aim of personal and business transformation. With its most robust program to date, the DBL Summit promises a unique experience of pushing boundaries beyond the comfort zone from November 21 to 23, 2024, in Zagreb. Top world experts will speak, including NASA’s specialist in space habitation, medical doctor, and physiologist, Stijn Thoolen.
“Using dentistry as an example, we see how just 20 years ago clinical skills were the key measure of success, but with the advent of digital technology and social media in dentistry, the rules of the game have changed and dentistry has become a business. At the heart of it all is the patient, but also communication. Most healthcare professionals end up without enough free time for themselves, family, and friends, thus sabotaging the possibility of personal growth – ultimately leading to a sense of unfulfillment and lack of purpose. That is why the DBL summit brings together leading experts who selflessly share their experiences to help accelerate the development of non-clinical skills,” explains Siniša Drobnjak, an expert in personal and business transformation, also an entrepreneur with thirty years of experience.
Personal growth occurs only when we step out of our comfort zone, as confirmed by summit participants who unanimously indicate in surveys that they will return next year, notes Drobnjak. Although originally conceived as education for dental medicine professionals, the DBL Summit’s themes of personal and professional development, as well as internal and external communication, are relevant to all healthcare managers. It’s worth noting that a lecture on family values will be delivered by three brothers – Jasper, Robbert, and Stijn Thoolen. The latter is a psychologist specializing in space habitation currently working at NASA, where he researches the limits of human health and performance for future Moon missions. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and a lecturer at prestigious universities such as Harvard. In Zagreb, he will discuss the dynamics of interpersonal relationships within teams.
The first day of the DBL Summit is dedicated to clinical skills, featuring leading global experts in dental medicine such as Victor Clavijo and Edson da Silva, in collaboration with the Croatian Society of Aesthetic Dental Medicine. The following two days will focus on business skills and experiences of successful domestic entrepreneurs, athletes, managers, and business consultants. Among them are celebrated swimmer Dina Levačić, business trainer Pilar Cabral Majerović, crisis communication expert Krešimir Macan, and entrepreneur Saša Cvetojević.
Siniša Drobnjak, the founder of DBL Summit, has been a private entrepreneur and has been running three successful companies dealing with IT solutions, dental product distribution, and business education since 1995. As a graduate electrical engineer, he has co-authored scientific articles in biomedical engineering and has successfully completed six EU-funded projects as project manager. He acquired his business knowledge at prestigious business schools in the USA and Europe, all aimed at enhancing the business value for his customers.
