Croatia 2074: A Glimpse into the Future

A project created to mark the 140th anniversary of Croatia Osiguranje

The Croatia 2074 project was developed through the collaboration of Adris Group, Croatia Osiguranje, Millenium Promotion, and the agency Bruketa&Žinić&Grey to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the founding of Croatia Osiguranje, the oldest and largest insurance company in Croatia. This project is the result of cooperation among around thirty leading Croatian scientists, experts, and artists.

The project was designed to encourage public debate and foster more responsible thinking about Croatia’s future. The process began with reflections on the future, followed by an analysis of facts and trends. This resulted in the creation of three possible scenarios – optimistic, pessimistic, and realistic. The three scenarios are based on the idea that the future is not predetermined but is shaped by our everyday decisions.

Optimistic Scenario presents a vision of the future that could unfold if we wisely utilize our potential and if global elites become more aware of their responsibility for the future of humanity.

Pessimistic Scenario provides insight into the potential consequences if we fail to find adequate responses to challenges such as climate disasters, mass migrations, and the negative impact of technology.

Between these two extremes lies the Realistic Scenario, which combines current trends with the hope that we can manage our destiny more consciously and responsibly.
