One of the key novelties of Conventa 2026 is the launch of the Conventa Experience Crawl, an experience-driven afternoon programme designed to expand networking beyond the trade show floor. Over two days, hosted buyers will connect with destinations and suppliers in central Ljubljana through curated experiences that combine destination storytelling, art and informal exchange. The concept has been co-created by Ljubljana Tourism, the Slovenian Convention Bureau, Conventa and ETC Adriatic, with the intention that it can later be reused by event organisers as a creative extension of events hosted in the city.
The programme unfolds along two circular paths, guiding participants through a selection of carefully chosen venues in the city centre. Each stop blends spatial character with tailored content, integrating destination presentations, artistic elements and authentic hospitality into a continuous, experience-led networking journey.
Suppliers will showcase their services across multiple locations, with hosted buyers engaging with them as they move along the two circular paths. These curated experiences are designed to facilitate short, focused face-to-face meetings with destinations and partners, ensuring each stop becomes a purposeful moment for exchange, inspiration and the development of new business relationships.
Circle 1: Synchronisation
The first circular path brings hosted buyers through a sequence of central Ljubljana venues, each linked by the idea of rhythm, connection and shared experience.
The programme begins in the Atrium of the General Post Office, a hidden, tranquil space in the city centre, where a postcard workshop and photo booth reference the heritage of written communication and encourage slower, more personal interaction. It continues at Nebotičnik, one of Ljubljana’s architectural icons, with a sound-art experience that uses rhythm and collective listening as a metaphor for synchronisation and the formation of new connections.
The circle concludes at Nebo Restaurant, where an interactive pub quiz developed in collaboration with the Innsbruck Convention Bureau offers a relaxed, informal setting for exchange. Designed to combine knowledge, humour and cooperation, the quiz serves as a social closing moment for meetings, set against panoramic views of the city.
Circle 2: Harmony
The second circular path focuses on balance, trust and shared discovery, guiding participants through a contrasting set of venues in central Ljubljana.
The programme begins at Bankarium, the city’s museum of banking, housed in a former bank building of significant historical value. Here, attendees take part in a treasure-hunt-style experience that combines exploration and cooperation, using the space’s financial heritage as a backdrop for stories about trust, security and collective problem-solving.
At Muza Gallery, a contemporary venue balancing historic context and modern design, attendees will take part in a guided water-tasting session led by a water sommelier. The experience invites participants to explore different waters through their origins, characteristics and stories, drawing attention to an often-overlooked element.
The circle concludes at Breg 369, a newly opened urban venue with a raw, modern aesthetic. Here, a collective visual art experience turns the space into a shared canvas, with participants co-creating an artwork that captures group dynamics and leaves a tangible imprint of the encounter.
Commenting on the new format and the programme, the co-founder of Conventa, Gorazd Čad, said: “The innovative concept of the Conventa Experience Crawl is the result of a cooperation among partners and the belief that meetings can break the mould. Six carefully selected venues in the heart of Ljubljana will form a part of the Conventa story and experience. This project will help Ljubljana position itself as a city where every street, building, or atrium can serve as an event venue. The Conventa Experience Crawl is an ode to creativity, collaboration and a new understanding of events as holistic experiences.”
The Conventa Experience Crawl underlines how business events can evolve into curated experiences when the city itself becomes part of the concept. In this format, Ljubljana is not merely a backdrop but an active co-creator, with its urban rhythm, architecture and atmosphere shaping the programme alongside the people who bring it to life.
