How to explain the grandiosity of this year’s Branding Conference, seventh in a row, organized by the leading communication agency in BiH, Via Media. Perhaps it can be compared with a football match with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, or perhaps with a music festival with U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead… It’s like a seminar of neurosurgeons who in their careers had countless interventions, surgeries and research papers. Masters of their craft will be gathered in one place.
On 2 June this year Sarajevo will host world-renowned experts in the field of branding, marketing communications and media who will give lectures on the latest developments in the field of advertising campaigns, what is important, what has died out and how things are done in Europe and worldwide. Presentations will encourage discussion of the strategic plans of companies operating in South-East Europe and will thus enhance the branding profession in BiH and exploit the creative potential.
Among the speakers of this year’s Branding Conference one of the names that stand out is Daniel Pankraz, who will, among other things, present the importance of knowing the behavior of the new online and offline generations, in order for new brands to reach them more easily.
“The easiest way for brands to develop is to communicate with young people, feeling their pulse and treating them as partners. All brands are able to access social platforms that young people use, talk to them and include them in the branding strategy,” Pankraz believes.
Pankraz is director of strategic innovation at Leo Burnett Sydney. He has over 17 years of experience, having worked in the world’s best creative agencies such as AKQA London, BBH New York, Iris APAC and Naked. He has won over 50 international awards at D&AD, Cannes, Effies, APAC Effies, One Show, Spikes, Clio, APG Award by working with brands such as Nike, Jordan, Google, YouTube, Adidas…
His “what” will be complemented by Paul Coleman, another big name in the roster. He will give a lecture on the topic “Nirvana of Optimization”. The Balkan region is buzzing with excitement about the new possibilities of optimizing advertising and Coleman will provide an answer to the question what is behind it all, and are there certain dangers. Coleman has been engaged in design, branding and advertising for 25 years. He’s OMD’s director of cooperation for EMEA region. For the eleventh consecutive year, his agency has been declared the Global Media Agency of the Year.
Equally interesting will be to hear representatives of Viber. You probably won’t find five people in the developed world, under the age of 80, who haven’t heard of this messaging platform. Konstantin Kostadinov, Sales Manager and Zarena Kancheva, Marketing and PR Manager, will introduce us to the rules and trends in the dynamic world of communication media, the so-called Viber Re-volution, and will explain how to keep up with trends and reap benefits.
The unforgettable experience of the Branding Conference, whose tagline this year is “Brand New Jungle”, will be enriched by the lecture by Dalibor Šumiga, director of the company Promosapiens from Zagreb, who says that “the subconscious buys, and we’re just pushing the carts.” With 17 years of experience in marketing, creating many marketing ideas and solutions for leading brands in Adria region, Šumiga established himself in the field of consumer psychology and neuromarketing, and will talk about how the buying process actually begins.
If you still don’t understand how colossal the seventh Branding Conference is, just imagine film directors and students from BiH being lectured in film by Francis Ford Coppola, the Coen brothers and Jim Jarmusch.
