In collaboration with the Vukovar Waterbus Bajadera, in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas, a special issue of the Business Café was held on this boat in Vukovar titled Coffee that connects on the river that connects.
Zrinka Šesto, owner of the ship, opened the gathering, welcoming all the guests. She briefly referred to the recently won award for the ship, the second one in the first year of operation, and announced plans looking forward.
Ivan Lozančić, owner of the IT company Gauss Development, 19th fastest growing company in SE Europe on Deloitte’s list, in its offices in Osijek and Vukovar employs 80 people. He said that now, after 4.5 years, he plans to make a plan. He explained what and for whom they work, and added that after traveling a lot he has concluded that “it’s much better here than people think – there’s no other place I would choose to live and work in.”
Nives Lovrić produces premium pumpkin oil and undertakes a range of activities to export it, since this type of oil is produced only in Austria, Croatia and Serbia. All the guests had a chance to enjoy in tasting this product.
Martina Tomljenović, head of marketing in Borovo, explained their efforts and successes that followed, and pointed out that we have all unfortunately forgotten about our tradition of quality production of handmade shoes. She added that Borovo could produce and export even more, but they lack the workforce. Namely, Borovo is in need of seamstresses, while in Vukovar-Srijem County there is also need for shoe technicians.
After the game of connecting guests, an interview followed with Mara Majstorović, motivational speaker and coach, the owner of company Lotus Media and portal samopozitivno.com.
Mara Majstorović from Vukovar talked about how the easiest thing to do is lament and point fingers at others, staying in the comfort zone, while a change in the mindset is necessary, as well as 100% accountability and awareness that diversity is good, and that we’re here to help each other with the focus on the positive.
As the guests shared their inspirational stories, knowledge and experience, a special atmosphere was present onboard the ship. “Indescribable really” said the organizers, noting that they sailed to the border with Serbia and then returned. As the guests mingled and organizers shared gifts, Croatian pumpkin oil was served along with Fresh Jazački cheese from Vojvodina, Serbia.
Tickets for 7 start-ups from the incubator VURA and three students were provided by the companies Industroplan, Čuvar Sjećanja, Inspiracija, Pupitres – Wine School of Jelena Valentić and Androlić consulting.
Gifts for guests entrepreneurs were provided by the company Ciceron – the latest book The Power of Persuasion – the second supplemented edition by Mirela Španjol Marković.
On this night a new story about Vukovar was started, but the future of Vukovar depends solely on its citizens. As the cradle of European civilization originates precisely in this region, organizers say they are certain that the people of Vukovar will know how to finish the story nicely.
