The Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) announced on Monday it will acquire Serbian biscuit and sweets producer Bambi from Mid Europa Partners investment firm for €260 million.
Last year, Bambi earned 80m euros in revenue, of which two-thirds in Serbia, and the rest in other Western Balkans countries, according to Coca-Cola HBC, headquartered in Switzerland, which fills and sells Coca-Cola in 28 countries.
They add that the Serbian company has a “strong” profitability and EBIT margins, nearly three times higher than Coca-Cola.
The conclusion of the deal is expected in the second quarter, according to Coca-Cola HBC.
The Serbian company was founded in 1967 and produces biscuits, wafers and snacks. Their brands include Bambi, Plazma, Wellness, Zlatni Pek and Josh.
Coca-Cola Hellenic shares fell by 2.1 percent last week, after warning that they expect higher costs this year due to debts and lower consumption in several markets.
