The British Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is expanding its professional certification process to Southeast Europe, following the appointment of Danijel Koletić as CIPR Ambassador for the region.
The appointment was confirmed during the 23rd edition of the PRO PR Conference, and the decision was presented by Sukhjit Grewal, CIPR’s Director of Professional Development and Membership. Operational support for the process in the region will be provided by the agency Apriori World, which has begun selecting and contacting professionals interested in obtaining the certification.
CIPR was founded in 1948, while Queen Elizabeth II granted it the status of an institution with a Royal Charter in 2005. It is the only professional body for public relations operating under a Royal Charter. The institute currently brings together more than 11,500 members from the public, private and consultancy sectors.
Its work is focused on developing professional standards in public relations through education, ethical guidelines, certification and continuing professional development.
Obtaining Chartered status is based on a professional assessment of candidates’ experience, knowledge and practical abilities. The process covers the areas of leadership, strategy and ethics, assessing how professionals make strategic decisions, manage an organisation’s reputation, respond to ethical dilemmas, lead communication teams and advise clients.
The assessment is based not only on theoretical knowledge, but also on the ability to connect communication decisions with business objectives and the organisation’s broader impact.
Chartered status represents international recognition of professional experience and commitment to ethical practice. With the introduction of the process in Southeast Europe, communication professionals from the region are gaining the opportunity to have their competencies recognised according to the standards of the British institute.
Information about the requirements, candidate selection and certification process is available through the agency Apriori World.
