In competition of 293 entries, from 34 countries, Čipi Čips Country line of products took the coveted WorldStar Award for excellence in packaging design, and thus became Croatia’s only winner this year. In Croatia, this packaging has already received the award Cropack 2015 for the best design in general, and The WorldStar Award represents the crown of all previous awards. In this competition, which can only be accessed by brands which have already won one of the national or regional awards for packaging, and which are also part of the World Packaging Organization, WPO.
“The packaging of our products carries the story, it conveys a message and is a very important communication tool in establishing the first contact with consumers. We devote a lot of attention to the design, development and production of packaging, always trying to give more and through design and innovation be a step ahead of the market expectations. After winning national awards, and the recognition of WPO, this prestigious award is indeed high praise to the efforts invested so far, and a motivation for further work and development,” said Dino Bijač, director of marketing and development at Adria Snack Company Ltd.
Čipi Čips Country was presented in 2013, and is characterized by a home-feeling design, visually striking and rich in detail, featuring a farmer in the field, thus highlighting both domestic origin and superb variety of potato from which it is made. All visuals on the packaging were hand drawn and finished with fine technique of printing on copper, which achieves an impression of tradition and old-fashioned preparation of potato chips. Packaging is the result of joint work of Adria Snack Company and the Croatian creative agency Portfolio by Studio Grozić.
Čipi Čips Country is available in three flavors; salt, bacon and smoked cheese, and is tailored to consumers and their desires with extra thick cut.
WorldStar award exists since 1970, and as WPO points out, particular attention is paid to packaging that demonstrates innovation, aesthetic appeal, eco-friendliness, ease of production, convenience and importance globally. This year, a total of 194 prizes were awarded in 10 categories: beverage, electronics, food, health and beauty, household goods, luxury products, pharmaceutical and medical products, prolonged shelf, transport packaging, and other.
