Artificial intelligence will gain an even more visible place within the programs of The One Club for Creativity. The organization has entered into a global partnership with CapCut, a platform owned by ByteDance, which will be involved across awards, events and content aimed at the creative community.
CapCut is an AI platform for photo and video editing available on desktop, mobile and tablet devices, and alongside editing tools it also includes graphic design, team collaboration and video generation.
The new partnership will not be tied to a single festival or individual category, but will extend across four major awards programs of The One Club. Adam Izen, Chief Awards Officer at The One Club, linked the collaboration to the growing role of artificial intelligence in the creative process and the question of what the criteria for creative excellence will look like at a time when AI is becoming an increasingly present tool.
One of the first concrete outcomes of the collaboration will be a new special category at the upcoming edition of the ADC Annual Awards, with details to be announced in October. At the same time, CapCut will serve as the main partner of ADC Young Guns 24, the global competition for creative professionals aged 30 or younger, which is already open for entries.
The partnership also extends into the student segment. A special CapCut brief will be developed for the Young Ones Student Awards, giving students the opportunity to compete for honors such as a One Show Pencil, ADC Cube, Type Directors Club TDC Award or Portfolio Award.
At The One Show 2027, CapCut will be the main partner of the Creative Use of AI discipline. In-person and virtual creative events have also been announced, along with a creator content series, although details of these activities have not yet been released.
The collaboration with CapCut also expands The One Club’s existing relationship with ByteDance. TikTok was a founding partner of the ONE Creator Lab program in 2023, a tuition-free initiative designed to help content creators acquire the skills needed to build careers in the advertising and marketing industry. Last year, TikTok also partnered with the club on the first One Show Best Use of TikTok award.
Its connection with AI tools was expanded earlier this year as well, when the ADC Annual Awards established an exclusive partnership with Dreamina AI for the free ADC AI Visual Design-Dreamina AI category, dedicated to generative visual creativity.
