After excellent results in Croatian and Portuguese markets, full service agency Real Group received the opportunity to work for Lidl in Lithuania, on the preparation campaign for the arrival of Lidl on the Lithuanian market. Real Group has designed and developed a comprehensive campaign that accompanies the arrival of Lidl on the Lithuanian market – from the creative concept, recording and making video spots, photographing, up to the point of sale materials. The campaign was done by experts from Real Group, with the guidance of creative director Maro Pitarević.
Preparation of the campaign Great Shopping, Great Prices lasted from the fall of 2015 and is in line with Lidl’s business philosophy in which it offers excellent products at excellent prices. To illustrate this idea in an interesting way, Real tapped Arvydas Sabonis – legendary basketball player, the President of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation and five consecutive times the best European basketball player – as the star of the campaign. Sabonis is a man that can be called great by any criteria. The campaign in the teaser stage shows Sabonis at typical locations throughout Lithuania, inviting citizens to join him, while in the rest of the campaign Sabonis becomes “the good spirit” of Lidl, someone who is close to customers and helps them, both while buying in the store, as well as in everyday life – at a barbecue on the beach, at home… The recording took place all over Lithuania – at sea side, in the villages and in the capital cities, to show all parts of Lithuania which Lidl will reach in expansion of its sales network.

We entered this job with long experience in Croatian and Portuguese market, but Lithuania was specific because we were preparing a campaign for the arrival of Lidl on the Lithuanian market. Sabonis was a great and disciplined associate as befits a top athlete who is a role model for generations and generations of young people. We can say that we have a great friend in Lithuania, while Lidl has a great campaign in this Baltic country. We were especially happy that Sabonis talked about Dražen Petrović and other Croatian basketball players with honest sympathies,” Maro Pitarević, creative director at Real Group said.
