An expert jury composed of some of the best and most experienced marketing professionals in the region was carefully selected for this task: Chief Marketing Officer at Zagreb Brewery Darko Ivančević; Director of Marketing and Communications at UniCredit Bank Selma Riđanović Kenović; Chief Marketing Officer of Telekom Slovenia Simon Furlan; Chief Marketing Officer of the snacks department at Atlantic Group Snežana Teodorović; and marketing manager of Brewery Skopje AD Coca-Cola Hellenic & Heineken JV Zdenka Milanović.
Jury of advertisers will review all submitted projects and select the best 25, which will be presented at the Weekend Media Festival in Rovinj. Awards will be presented for the best agency, best project and the special award of BalCannes. Voting will take place in two rounds, advertisers will not be able to vote for the works from their country, which will further ensure impartiality in voting.
In addition to advertisers, all projects will also be evaluated by the jury of journalists that cover the industry, with the following composition: Ekrem Dupanović, Editor in Chief of Media Marketing; Ivana Parčetić Mitić, founder and Editor of Marketing mreža; Marjan Novak, Editor in Chief of Marketing magazin EU; Boris Eftimovski, Editor in Chief of the portal Marketing365 and Ivan Brezak Brkan, founder and Editor in Chief of Netokracija. Journalists will award a special prize to the best project of the last year in their opinion.
Such a selection of the best will reflect the actual market situation, believe the organizers of BalCannes, HURA (Croatian Association of Communication Agencies) and Weekend Media Festival.

The ninth edition of the Weekend Media Festival, the largest regional communications festival, will be held from 22 to 25 of September in the space of the old tobacco factory in Rovinj, under the auspices of the Adris Group, and this year it brings many new business topics with more than 120 speakers, about 4,000 media, marketing and PR professionals, about 350 students and nearly 600 accredited journalists, who will be able to enjoy plenty of interesting and topical lectures, panel discussions, workshops and presentations from the world of media, PR, marketing and the entire communications industry.

Darko Ivančević, Chief Marketing Officer, Zagrebačka pivovara (Croatia)
Brands and the team of the Zagreb brewery year in and year out win the shiniest awards at marketing competitions with their campaigns for Ožujsko – at the recent Days of Communication, they took the Grand Prix in the creative competition (IdejaX) and the competition in the effectiveness of marketing communications (Effie), and have been awarded with the coveted Advertiser of the Year award.
Selma Riđanović Kenović, Director of Marketing and Communications, UniCredit Bank (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Selma Riđanović Kenović is the Director of Marketing and Communications of UniCredit Bank in BiH. With an enviable career in the domestic market, this year’s representative of BiH advertisers in BalCannes jury has had an impressive international career in London and Amsterdam, which among others includes senior positions in companies such as British Telecom.
Zdenka Milanović, Marketing Manager, Pivara Skoplje AD Coca-Cola Hellenic & Heineken JV (Macedonia)
Impressive career of Zdenka Milanović does not include only client side experience, as she has long experience of working in advertising agencies. Here we must certainly mention the position of director of McCann Belgrade and regional director of creative agencies of McCann Group in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania. Before that, she spent many years abroad in Saatchi & Saatchi, among others, in the position of regional director for Central and Eastern Europe for P&G.
Simon Furlan, Chief Marketing Officer, Telekom Slovenije (Slovenia)
In the role of a CMO, Simon Furlan leads one of the strongest Slovenian advertisers – Telekom Slovenia. Although this electrical engineer started his career far from marketing, Telekom Slovenia was last year awarded the Advertiser of the Year recognition by the Slovenian Advertising Chamber.
Snežana Teodorović, Chief Marketing Officer for snacks department, Atlantic grupa (Serbia)
Representative of the Serbian advertisers in this year’s BalCannes jury is Snežana Teodorović, Chief Marketing Officer for Soko Štark brands within the Atlantic Group, one of the largest regional advertisers. Behind her is a long experience in managing a range of brands on the Serbian market, including Revlon Professional and Grand Coffee.
