Sarajevo Film Festival, first in this part of Europe in many aspects, pushes the boundaries of film again this year. One very different screening was held on Sunday, August 12 in Sarajevo, where the first amateur vertical film premiered, created by audiences from across the region.
We are all part of the same movie is also the message of this short film, which is now a unique achievement in the world of cinematography. It was created by editing together the clips made by cell phones of everyone who wanted to be part of this special art story – citizens of Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The long time sponsor of the festival, Atlantic Group, decided to surprise the audience once again and engage it in Sarajevo Film Festival so that the idea of culture, art and openness would live outside of Sarajevo as well, the city which, in every sense of that word, lives film during one August week of each year.
This year, the project is even more special because around 100 creative people, during only one week of the campaign duration, sent their videos with the desire to share their customs, culture, small daily rituals and emotions in one single movie, for – WE ARE ALL PART OF ONE MOVIE.
Clips of the most creative among them have found themselves in the final film, which was shown at Sarajevo Film Festival in its different, vertical format.
Openness to others and towards what is new, is the universal message of art, and the opening of the film world towards the amateur film, which can today be created simply by the use of mobile technology, with just a little imagination and creativity, can be best seen in the images and stories which have found a way to live as a unified whole, reflecting the spirit and emotions characteristic for the entire region.
Art connects and unifies, which was the wish of Atlantic Group and Sarajevo Film Festival, who joined forces to motivate as many people as possible to participate in this unusual venture. Among the hundred participants, 27 most creative people from the whole region were selected, their names indicated at the end of the film and, in this way, forever engraved into the history of Sarajevo Film Festival.
