After six months of running one of the biggest holdings in the world of advertising, Publicis Groupe, it’s chairman and CEO Arthur Sadoun is completely unrecognizable.
Of course, this is a gag that is part of the Publicis’ traditional Christmas address, which this year for the first time comes from the new chief Sadoun, continuing with the quirky humor of the previous holiday messages with the help of some fancy makeup.
“Bonjour. Here we are: the end of the year. The good news is,” says the unnaturally seasoned and white-haired Sadoun in his address. “For once, it will be short and won’t give any objective or business announcements. You had enough in the last months.”
Among those announcements of the year, his promotion in June, the consolidation of the US offices to one building apiece, the resignation of Publicis.Sapient co-chief executive Chip Register, and Publicis’ decision to remove itself from Cannes in 2018 to invest in AI assistant Marcel.
He is joined in the spot by his predecessor Maurice Levy, now looking quite younger than in the previous year’s holiday address. Check out the spot below.
The video ends on a tense moment as the two eye the „I’m The Boss“ mug, which Sadoun ultimately picks up effectively taking control and saluting his staff for the end of the year.
