ADC Young Guns — the global portfolio based competition for creative professionals 30 years of age and under — has always been a challenge to win, but we just knew that Young Guns 13 was going to be just a little bit tougher. But little did we know that this year’s diverse jury would raise the bar to such a height that only nineteen young creatives would clear it, making this the smallest, most exclusive class since Young Guns began!
“With support from ADC Board President Philippe Meunier, our jury selected what I believe is the smallest class of winners since Young Guns began,” said Nicole Jacek, Chair of the Young Guns 13 Committee and herself a YG8 winner. “Young Guns is not about meeting a quota of winners, but awarding individuals that we unanimously agreed would be the next generation of cultural changing creatives. This class may be small, but the talent is undeniable.”
Over the years, ADC Young Guns has brought out the best in a variety of creative fields, and has given a boost to the early careers of such visionaries as Stefan Sagmeister, Jessica Walsh, James Victore and Kate Moross. The nineteen winners of YG13 will join these names at the ADC Young Guns 13 Awards Ceremony + Exhibition Party, taking place next Thursday, September 17 at the ADC Gallery.
