After winning Silver and Bronze Lions at Cannes, Grey Ljubljana got a surprise in the form of a concrete lion in front of their office on Thursday morning. It turned out that it was delivered there after a stromy night by their client, A1 Slovenia. This was a ‘thank you’ message in a form of a 120-kilogram gift for succes and collaboration on the award-winning project, Bedtime Storytellers / Lahkonočnice (www.lahkonocnice.si)
These are the first Cannes Lion awards for Grey Ljubljana and the first Cannes Lions award for an agency from Slovenia since 2006. Besides winning 2 Cannes Lions in Radio (categories Use of Radio & Audio as a Medium and Casting & Performance), The Bedtime Storytellers was also placed among finalists in Promo and Activation, Direct and Mobile (Social Purpose and Corporate/Commercial).
Grey Ljubljana created The Bedtime Storytellers digital platform in collaboration with telecommunications operator A1 Slovenia. The digital platform consists of a collection of Bedtime Fairy Tales – audio stories that promote intergenerational bonding between senior citizens and children. Senior people who move to retirement homes tend to lose contact with the outside world, causing the decline of their cognitive abilities. To reconnect them with the outside world and strengthen their cognitive abilities Grey Ljubljana and A1 Slovenia turned them into Bedtime Storytellers.
By reading and recording fairy tales, written exclusively by renowned Slovenian fairytale writers, the retirement home storytellers create a vast library of audio fairytales, which rock toddlers all over Slovenia to sleep every day.
