A new form of digital OOH is taking on college campuses in the US, thanks to the Vengo Labs startup and their network of vending machines that serve digital ads.
Skin-care brand Kiehl’s has joined the startup and is offering free samples via their vending machines in college campuses in the US, under the condition that users share their e-mail address for one of the products.
Vengo Labs operates a network of vending machines that serve digital ads on 1,400 screens, and most of them are on university campuses or in gyms. The two-year old Vengo Labs is rapidly growing, and has doubled the number of screens since the first quarter of 2017, when it had 700 screens, and is currently present in 38 US states.
Whether Vengo Labs can become a formidable OOH player remains to be seen. In addition to the digital ads and sampling, marketers can buy physical wraps around the interactive machines.
