From today until Sunday, at the space of Jedinstvo plant and the club Močvara on the Sava embankment in Zagreb, the 7th edition of the International Festival D Day will be held, organized by Croatian Designers Association (HDD). The theme of this year’s D Day is open design.
The festival will be opened at 13.00 hours with the presentation of faculties and this year’s exhibitions, and the opening of the thematic part of the festival will be held at 17.30.
The thematic curated exhibition will show works of different scope and ambition that use the principles of open design; Exhibition of young artists will show a selection of the best entries on free topic; and a special part of the program is Exhibition of Illustrators Powered by Iskon, which will present Gerg Kovács – artist and illustrator from Budapest.
The discursive program will encompass a wide range of topics through which participants will approach the notion of open design in different ways. This year’s guests – lecturers are Irene Maldini, Tomislav Medak, Aleksandar Kovač, Silvio Lorusso, Cristoph Haag, Jesse Howard and Radiona, and the participants of the panel at the festival are Iva Marčetić, Matija Pajić and Ivan Vadanjel.
This year’s educational program includes five interdisciplinary workshops, led by Roelof Roscam Abbing, Yoana Buzova, Maja Kolar, Maša Poljanec, Emanuele Bonetti, Loredana Bontempi, Dina Karadžić, Vedran Gligo, Cvijeta Biščević,Gordana Dragičević and Dorotea Kutleša, and two Design primers for the youngsters, organized in collaboration with the partner of the festival, Iskon, and prepared by Andreja Rožić and NJI3 (Tessa Bachrach Krištofić, Dina Milovčić and Franka Tretinjak).
