The exhibition of 100 posters for the elimination of extremism – Make Extremism History – opened in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo at noon on Friday, 23 December 2016.
The exhibition deals with the fight against extremism in all its forms, as seen and expressed in the art of graphic designers from more than 50 countries worldwide. The project is organized by The Association of Applied Art Artists and Designers of BiH, the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo and Poster for Tomorrow, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of France, UNICEF and the City of Paris.
CONSUMER REPORTS: MACBOOK PRO FAILS TO EARN RECOMMENDATION
Consumer Reports – a nonprofit devoted to independent and impartial testing of products – reports that the new series of Apple MacBook Pro did not meet its criteria. Although the laptops received good grades for the quality of the screen, and overall performance, the organization states that the batteries are unreliable and that the duration of work without charging significantly fluctuates from one trial to another.
One of the models thus worked 16 hours in the first trial, and less than four hours in the second. Another machine in its best trial lasted an impressive 19.5 hours, but in the worst trial the battery drained in 4.5 hours.
Consumer Reports concluded that the observed fluctuations are extremely rare and emphasize that the battery drain on laptops trials usually oscillates within about five percent. MacBook Pro has therefore received devastating marks here, with 15 inch model receiving 56 out of a possible one hundred points, while the smaller 13 inch model received mere 47 points.
This is the first time that the computers in the MacBook Pro series received a score that is not high enough for the recommendation of Consumer Reports.
NIKE’S BASKETBALL BUSINESS REBOUNDS
A rejuvenation in Nike’s basketball business has led the company to post a better than expected growth on revenue.
The sportswear giant saw a slowdown in its basketball business last year, however its quarterly revenue and profit results show a rebound in the division, leading Nike president, Trevor Edwards, to conclude “Basketball is back.”
Nike’s profits rose 7.3% in the three months to November, while revenue jumped 6.4%.
“We’re seeing incredible momentum in basketball, to be clear, basketball is back,” said Edwards on a conference call.
Nike’s basketball revenue is predicted to return to growth in the back half of the current fiscal year, lauding new product launches including the new global launch of the Space Jam collection.
