SLOVENIAN TOURISM ORGANIZATION LOOKING FOR DESIGNERS
The Slovenian Tourism Organization is looking for designers who would devise advertising tools for the organization, and the contest is open until 8 December 2017.
The subject of the competition is divided into two units, namely advertising tools (prints, services at different events, promotional products, labeling systems) and video content such as social media ads and animated internet ads.

RUSSIA PRESENTS OFFICIAL POSTER FOR THE WORLD CUP 2018
Three days before the draft of the World Cup 2018, the official poster of the World Cup 2018 was presented in Moscow.
The poster was designed by famous Russian artist Igor Gurovič, and the poster features the legendary Soviet goalkeeper, Lav Jašin.
The poster is one of the most well-known photographs of Jashin on which he catches mid-air is half painted with the map of Russia, as seen from the universe.
“The official poster of the World Cup is a true reflection of the Russian art and football heritage,” said Fatma Samoura, Secretary General FIGA.
“We are very proud of the rich history that displays such an important icon and celebrates the tournament on the Russian soil,” she added.
FESTIVAL PERFORATIONS HELD IN NEW YORK
The festival, which was held from November 17th to 26th in New York, organized by the association Domino, presented to the U.S. audiences in La Mama and the Abrons Art Center seven US premieres, and brought more than 30 artists to New York. The festival features performances by Jasna L. Vinovrški, Ina Sladić, Bruno Isaković and Mia Zalukar, Via Negative, Tukawach troupe and Marta Ziolek, as well as the replay performance of Ivica Buljan’s performance with the Great Jones Repertoary Theater, which had its American premiere last year in New York.
Perforacije (Perforations) festival in New York was very well received, and most of the performances were sold out, and the critics also gave the festival excellent ratings. After these successful New York performances, the presentation of local artists to the American audience continues in Chicago, where Mia Zalukar and Bruno Isaković perform their duet “Odjednom odasvuda“, and Isaković will perform his five-hour-long “Fade Into” at the famous Zhou B cultural center. Perforacije are a festival that is the holder of the European EFFE Award for Innovation in Culture, and will be held for the tenth time in Croatia next June, in 7 Croatian cities.
WARC MEDIA AWARDS 2017 – BEST USE OF DATA SHORTLIST ANNOUNCED
WARC unveiled the Best Use of Data shortlist for WARC’s 2017 Media Awards, an international competition that examines the insight, strategy and analytics that power effective channel investment.
20 campaigns have been shortlisted in the Best Use of Data category, which recognises the role of data in an effective communications strategy.
As well as one global campaign, shortlisted entries have run in a wide range of markets – Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, The Netherlands, The Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States – and include brands such as MyTaxi, Rexona Men and Vodafone.

XIAOMI OVERTAKES SAMSUNG TO LEAD SMARTPHONE SALES IN 50 MAJOR CITIES IN INDIA
Xiaomi’s strong online presence and offline expansion through ‘Preferred Partner’ programmes and Make in India Stores fostered it to overtake Samsung in smartphone sales in India according to a research by International Data Corporation’s (IDC).
Xiaomi registered 120% growth in the Q32017 and lead the market share in 50 major cities. Redmi Note 4 contributed more than 40% of the volumes and is also the highest selling model within the top 50 cities of India. Trailing Xiaomi is Samsung with 15% quarterly growth in Q32017.
India recently powered ahead of US to become the world’s second largest smartphone market.
SAMSUNG ACQUIRES SOUTH KOREAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FIRM FLUENTY TO IMPROVE BIXBY
Samsung has announced it has acquired South Korean artificial intelligence Fluenty to use the startup’s machine learning-based chatbot to upgrade its AI assistant Bixby.
According to The Korean Herald, Samsung will buy over the firm’s engineers, technologies and assets, which counts researchers from top technology firms like Kakao and LG Electronic as its founders.
Fluenty has a previously produced a smartphone application product called “AI-based Recommendation Service”, which provides appropriate responses to users, based on its machine learning software.
ACCENTURE INTERACTIVE WINS FIAT CHRYSLER’S GLOBAL MASERATI ACCOUNT
Fiat Chrysler has appointed Accenture Interactive as global experience agency of record for Maserati, with a brief spanning eight major markets including the U.S., Japan, and Europe.
Accenture Interactive claims the move is a major step forward in its quest to take on the traditional agencies at their own game.
Anatoly Roytman, managing director of Accenture Interactive in Europe, Africa and Latin America called the move “a game-changer in the industry. We’ve arrived. There was no pitch because no other agency could offer this entire, end-to-end scope. It’s our first win using everything we have as Accenture Interactive.”
