A CROATIAN STARTUP RAISES 2.6 MILLION USD IN A SHORT TIME, GIVING ITS INVESTORS 18.6% SHARE
Digital Assets Power Play, the first Croatian startup to run an initial offer in crypto-currency (ICO), in just six days achieved an almost identical evaluation as Iskon had at the moment when it was sold to Croatian Telecom, and by the end of the year it plans to be listed on a number of world crypto stock exchanges.
According to Etherscan.io, for $2.6 million DA Power Play’s founders have given 18.6 percent stake in the startup to their investors. This means that they achieved a market evaluation of $13.9 million, which is close to 90 million HRK. Investors, 528 of them, in turn received DPP tokens. In total, they created 100 million DPP tokens.
Although these are technically Etherium-based tokens, once they start trading on the cryptocurrency markets , they can also be used as a payment method, and will become a real cryptocurrency.
Although in Croatia there are several startups dealing with cryptocurrencies, DA Power Play is the first one to enable the development of digital, autonomous cryptobrokers.
The startup will offer a range of services that will enable the average user to simply create a strategy for investing in crypto coins, and to implement it in practice.
AMAZON IS BECOMING INCREASINGLY POPULAR SEARCH ENGINE
Amazon is becoming an increasingly popular search engine, and therefore an increasingly attractive advertising platform and an ever-increasing challenge for Google and Facebook.
Research by Kenshoo tech company shows that most consumers seek product information on Amazon. In the first survey, Amazon is used by between 31 and 55 percent of consumers, while 72 percent of them visit Amazon before making a purchase decision.
“Amazon has reached an incredible advantage and is increasing its market share. A noticeable downward trend in retail sales is noticeable. When they close their doors, they move the sales of their products to Amazon. With the increase in popularity as a channel for purchasing products, their influence as a search engine also grows. It will be like that until someone else invents a better model,” said Nathan Grimm, director of the agency Indigitous.
GOOGLE DISBANDS ‘FIRST CLICK FREE’ POLICY AS IT AIMS TO HELP GROW ONLINE MEDIA SUBSCRIPTIONS
Google is set to disband its ‘first click free’ policy which forces media companies to offer a minimum of three free-to-view pieces of content each day, introduced in the last decade as a result of the rise in paywalls.
The search giant will instead introduce ‘a flexible sampling model’ where media companies will select the number of articles that are viewable to readers themselves without being penalized when it came to search results. (TheDrum)
