WORK OF IMAGO ADVERTISING AGENCY FOR JANA IN THE FINALS OF CANNES LIONS
Advertising agency Imago Ogilvy has its first ever finalist at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The work Wining of Love was made for Jana water brand, and is shortlisted in the Branded Content & Visual Storytelling Live Broadcast / Live Streaming category. Among the fifty works submitted from the Adriatic region, only this work from Imago Ogilvy reached the finals.
Due to the importance of the festival and its impact on the global advertising industry, ranking in the finals of Cannes Lions festival is already a reward in itself.
To recall, Lions have so far been brought to the Adriatic region by Slovenes, Serbs and Macedonians, but Croatia still hasn’t got one.
Will Croats get lucky this time, we will find out in two days.

SOMORITANAC – NEW CATEGORY AT SOMO BORAC!
SoMo Borac, the most important digital award presented each year at the Weekend Media Festival, has a new category – SoMoRitanac!
Regardless of whether times are easy or difficult, there are always those who need help. Sometimes, the general public need to be reminded of the problem, to provide support, to be with those who are being denied their rights. Often, it is the support of associations, individuals, large and small companies, as well as the work of their agencies that is the key to success in gaining public attention. That’s why SoMo Borac is introducing a new category – SoMoRitanac. The award will be presented for the best digital campaign that has contributed to some cause (ie. raise awareness about an issue, help a disadvantaged group or contribute to solving a social problem).
“SoMoRitanac is there to show how we are helping make the world a better place. It is here to highlight those that were the best in that, but also to inspire us to help others whenever we have the opportunity,” said Ružica Vrdoljak Ličina from the organization of SoMoBorac.
In addition to this category, SoMo Borac recognizes the best in the following categories: SoMo Face (best Facebook page), SoMust Have (the best of other social networks), CM of the Year (Community Manager of the year), SoMo Content (best content marketing projects), Viral blockbuster (internet hit), Digital Mix (campaigns across multiple digital channels), SoMo Tech (best applications or uses of technology) and Digital of the Year (the best leader of digital projects).
Entries to the SoMo Borac are free of charge, and will start on 28 June. To learn more visit www.somoborac.com.

Cannes Lions can confirm a review of the “I Sea” app, created by Grey Group Singapore, after the veracity of the app was brought into question.

Following concerns expressed about aspects of its functionality, a review will be conducted with Grey Group Singapore following the Festival.
CINDY GALLOP CALLS OUT ‘MALE-DOMINATED AD INDUSTRY’ FOR GIVING THIS AD A BRONZE LION AT CANNES
The outdoor ad, for Bayer from AlmapBBDO in Sao Paulo, reads “Don’t worry babe, I’m not filming this.mov” and features aspirin boxes.
Cindy Gallop, the former agency exec and vocal women’s advocate, has again brought attention to Cannes Lions ceremony tweeting a photo of the ad and commenting, “Don’t use this to sell aspirin, male-dominated ad industry [and] don’t award it, male dominated juries.”
A group of female Brazilian creatives brought the ad to Gallop’s attention, who according to Gallop, were “very unhappy about it, particularly given this very recent, high-profile and utterly appalling case in Brazil.” The Brazilian case referenced deals with a 16-year-old girl who was allegedly gang raped by 30 men who also took pictures of her and posted them on social media without her consent.
The Bronze Lion was awarded to AlmapBBDO for three outdoor ads, including the one reference in the tweet as well as two other iterations; “It’s ok, I’m not taking any notes.doc”and “Relax, it’s not like this is being recorded.mp3.”
