FORMITAS CREATIVE CREW EXPANDS

The creative team of the Ljubljana agency Formitas BBDO has been joined by the art director Ivan Momirov and senior copywriter Jure Korenč.

Ivan Momirov has twelve years of experience in creating design solutions. He gained experience at six agencies (including the DLV BBDO Italy, Saatchi & Saatchi Italy and Leo Burnett Serbia) in three countries, and has worked for global brands such as Coca-Cola, BMW, P&G, Samsung and MTV.

Jure Korenč took his first steps in advertising ten years ago. He mostly gained experience in major Slovenian agencies and the biggest Slovenian commercial television. He created for a number of brands such as Poli, Volkswagen, Belinka, Triglav Insurance, Mercator, Telekom Slovenia, McDonald, Henkel, Peugeot, Barcaffe and Pop TV and has won national and international awards. 6th IAB ACADEMY TAKING PLACE IN LJUBLJANA

The sixth IAB Academy – an educational event organized by IAB Slovenia – will be held today at the Four Points by Sheraton Ljubljana Mons.

Simona Koren, Atlantic Group, and Jernej Špende, agency Pristop, will talk about the successful rejuvenation of the brand Donat Mg through change of its communication. Denis Oštir, Pro Plus, will focus on the use of ad blocking aps. Dušan Boldin, AV studio, will present native advertising on a concrete example of internet portals of Slovenian shopping centers. THIRTEENTH NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS WILL KEEP SERBIA AWAKE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT!

Thirteen is not a favorite number to many, but this year’s Night of the Museums will tackle its (in)famous heritage through numerous programs, which will bring out the good mood, showing that culture, knowledge and laughter are the best allies in the fight against superstition. As every year, the Night of the Museums will open new spaces for the audience, discover the undiscovered and tell previously untold stories about the people, events and architecture of Belgrade. Therefore, all visitors are advised to keep their eyes wide open in the night of 21 May 2016.

Night of the Museums is driven by the Program Council which this year consists of architect and academician Brana Mitrović, director and editor in chief of the Cultural program of RTS Nebojša Bradić, sculptor prof. Mrđan Bajić, art historian Prof. Dr. Lidija Merenik and historian Milan Tlačinac.

GOLIN GERMANY LAUNCHES AS A JOINT VENTURE BY GOLIN & GGH MULLENLOWE

Golin has formed a joint venture with sister agency, GGH MullenLowe in Germany. The partnership allows both agencies to bring a truly integrated offering to the German market. Golin is launching its brand in Hamburg under the leadership of Uta Behnke, newly appointed managing director of Golin Germany. Behnke is charged with overseeing and growing the agency – including opening a second office in Munich this summer. She will report to Matt Neale, president international, Golin and Benedikt Holtappels, CEO GGH MullenLowe.

The new integrated model is a response to the reality that many traditional, isolated PR and advertising solutions no longer work in the increasingly complex world of communications. The effectiveness of earned media on its own is increasingly restricted. The most successful campaigns integrate the suport of paid media to ensure reach and scale.

EXPECT MORE CELEBS THAN EVER AS CANNES LIONS EXPANDS ITS ENTERTAINMENT FOCUS

Hollywood A-listers always draw the biggest crowds at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, and this year’s event will be even more celebrity-packed as the festival adds a new category of entertainment-based programming.

Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow, John Cena, Channing Tatum and Mindy Kaling will join the speaker roster alongside some of Madison Avenue’s biggest names, including DDB North America CEO Wendy Clark and R/GA co-founder Bob Greenberg.

This year marks the first year of the Lions Entertainment program, which was created to focus on and reward, “talented entertainers who have the power to connect directly with consumers.”

The full schedule for the festival, held June 18-25, 2016, and list of speakers is now available online.

NIKE PAYS TRIBUTE TO ‘THE BLACK MAMBA’ KOBE BRYANT AS HIS FINAL GAME NEARS

Nike has paid homage to basketball legend Kobe Bryant as his curtain call approaches, with a new ad playing on his ‘Black Mamba’ nickname.

Nike’s roster of top stars, including Rory McIlroy, Serena Williams, LeBron James Tiger Woods, Odell Beckham Jr, Neymar Jr, Kevin Durrant and more all got talking about the star – not always in the most flattering of terms.

On 13 April, he will engage in his final game. Wednesday has also been branded Black Mamba day in tribute to the Lakers’ five-time NBA champ.
