EFFIE SLOVENIA AWARDS CEREMONY IS MOVING TO LJUBLJANA
The Effie Slovenia awards have been held the Slovenian Advertising Festival in Portorož for the last few years. The Effie organisers have decided to go back to Ljubljana in 2019, we’ll soon now more details..
“In addition to the competition, which stays at the centre of the whole event and the application process which will officially start before the Spring of 2018, the next two years will be dedicated to promoting Effie. You’ll have an opportunity to join our up to date and interesting lectures and events” said Barbara Modic, the president of Effie Slovenija 2018 and Pristop Media agency director.
One of the first events will be The Effie Day on the 21st of March. Les Binet, the efficiency lead of one of the best advertising agencies in the world Adam & Eve DDB will give a talk on that day. Jason Romeyko, the global executive creative director of Serviceplan will share his experiences as a very special guest of Effie during 27th SOF (12th and 13th April, 2018 in Portorž)
VIPNET BOUGHT EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
From the next season, Vipnet will be the only private TV provider in Croatia with exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League. Given that the Champions League is one of the most watched sport events in Europe, the Vip and B. net TV already offer exclusive packages but acquiring these rights is the cherry on the cake .
Vipnet have bought the rights for the seasons 2018/2019, 2019/2020 i 2020/2021, meaning in total 120 live matches which all aired in HD. Vipnet has rights to all live matches on a Tuesday and Wednesday ( excluding the match chosen by public TV). Channels devoted to the Champions League will go live in July, live matches will be aired from August starting with the last of the qualification rounds, continuing through the group phases and the playoffs. The contract also gives Vipnet access to all the Champions League matches since 2009 as well as access to the highlights of the matches and 33 Champion League Magazine shows.

TATJANA SKOKO NAMED AS MICROSOFT CROATIA DIRECTOR AND HRISTO MANEV FOR THE ADRIATIC REGION
Microsoft has named Tatjana Skoko, Microsoft Croatia acting director, as director of Microsoft Croatia. Tatjana Skoko held several positions such as Enterprise and Partners Group Lead for Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, then Account Executive for the Adriatic Region which included Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania. Before joining Microsoft, Tatjana was a director of Croatian Telekom corporate users division where she achieved continuous growth of business, took part in placing HT as a preferred choice of corporate users in Croatia and expansion into Central and Eastern Europe.
Microsoft named Hristo Manov as director of the Adriatic region. He also keeps his position as Baltic regional director (Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia). Hristo Manov joined Microsoft in August 2016 as a Business Strategy Lead for CEE, he has been a Baltic regional director since April 2017.
GIGANTIC RESHUFFLING IN ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY
Entertainment industry giant Disney has acquired 21st Century Fox film and television studios for $52bn. According to the agreement, Disney takes over the movie studio 21st Century Fox, 21st Century Fox Television, Fox’s cable television networks (including FX and National Geographic), and shares in international networks such as Star TV and Sky.
Disney also got a controlling stake in Hulu (60 percent). Disney now fully holds the rights to the original Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and a series of franchises (Avatar, Alien, Ice Age, Planet of the Apes, The Simpsons, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, How I Met Your Mother, Futurama, Firefly, The X-Files).
Fox, on the other hand, wants to focus on profitable side of its business – Fox Sports and Fox News.
